Teams of surveyors will be provided detailed information on the projected location of the mounds in Latitude and Longitude. Both Friday March 2 and Saturday March 3 will be spent in the field looking for mounds.

Equipment Needed:
Each crew needs to be equipped with all standard field equipment utilized by most survey crews, plus at least two handheld GPS units reading to two decimal places of one second if available (a good example is the Delorme PN 40 or PN 60). Survey grade GPS equipment to document the location of any earthen mounds found. Concrete monuments will be provided, a post hole digger will be necessary for each crew.

This work is sponsored by Auburn University, the Mississippi Association of Professional Surveyors and the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors. The funds generated from this seminar will go toward continuing work on the historical preservation of the Line of Demarcation.

A signup brochure will be mailed/e-mailed in the fall of 2011. A Continuing Education Credit Certificate will be issued by Auburn University. We encourage 6 to 8 surveyors form a team, group housing will be available for a very reduced rate. Other registrants will be assigned to a team upon registration.
